Biometric Information Policy

Please read the following content carefully before using this website.

Intellicheck, Inc. along with its affiliates and subsidiaries (collectively, “Intellicheck,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides this Biometric Information Policy (“Policy”) to describe the biometric identifiers we collect, how long we keep them, and guidelines for permanently destroying them. Intellicheck provides this Policy in accordance with applicable standards and laws regulating biometric information including, but not limited to, the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (“BIPA”).

What are Biometric Identifiers?

In this Policy, “biometric identifiers” means information about your physical or biological characteristics that identify you. Scans of your facial structure and geometry are considered biometric identifiers.

Our Purpose for Collecting Your Biometric Identifier

Intellicheck uses third-party, facial recognition software to verify your identity as part of our security and fraud prevention services. When you request services from a Company using our identity verification and fraud prevention services (hereinafter, our “Services”) we may collect photographs of you to confirm your identity. Our process requires two photographs: 1. A current picture of yourself using your smartphone (you may call this a “selfie”), and 2. A picture of a government-issued identification (e.g., passport, state-issued identification card or driver’s license, etc.). We use third party software to help you capture the selfie, prepare both pictures for matching, and analyze the photos to determine whether they match. The third-party software scans your facial geometry and provides us with a score measuring the similarities between the two photographs and the likelihood of a match (hereinafter, “matching score”).

Retention and Use of Your Biometric Identifier

Neither the facial geometry scan, the resulting biometric identifier, nor the matching score will be saved or stored by Intellicheck or our third-party software, which runs entirely within Intellicheck’s IT environment. The information is collected for the performance of the Services and permanently deleted immediately thereafter. Neither Intellicheck nor its third-party software provider will sell, lease, trade, or otherwise profit from your matching score or biometric identifier. Biometric identifiers will not be disclosed by Intellicheck outside of the stated purposes in this policy unless: (i) we obtain your consent, (ii) a law requires us to do so, or (iii) a valid legal subpoena requires us to do so.

Changes to This Policy

Intellicheck reserves the right to amend this Policy at any time. We will post changes to the Policy on this page.
