We are seeking a Vice President, Engineering to lead the software development team in designing, developing, and deploying Intellicheck’s family of ID Verification technology solutions including API, Mobile, Web and native applications. This individual will work closely with the engineering team and leadership stakeholders to ensure we deliver high quality solutions to our customer. The ideal candidate has experience designing and building business to business SaaS products and leads by example, overseeing the software development process to ensure we deliver high-value products to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, design, and implementation of software solutions ensuring high performance, quality, and reliability.
- Leads the engineering team by example, demonstrating best practices for delivering quality software.
- Collaborate with leadership, engineering, and QA, to ensure the delivery of high-value quality products to our customers.
- Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Ensure adherence to best practices in software development, including version control, testing, CI/CD, and documentation.
- Establish and monitor performance metrics for software systems and lead efforts to optimize system performance and reliability.
- Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the software development team and across departments.
- Work with leadership to develop budgets, timelines, and project plans to support new software development initiatives.
Must Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 10+ years of progressive technology and software development experience, including significant senior technology leadership experience.
- Prior experience as a VP of Engineering, VP of Technology, or comparable senior technology executive.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly assess an existing technology organization and identify operational, staffing, process, and technical issues.
- Strong knowledge of software development, architecture, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and modern development practices.
- Proven experience managing software development teams and improving project execution and delivery.
- Ability to evaluate technical talent and organizational structure objectively and constructively.
- Strong project management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical issues into clear business terms for executive leadership.
- Ability to step into an organization quickly, establish credibility, and operate effectively with limited ramp-up time.
- Strong business and financial acumen.
